Champagne Agrapart

Champagne, France | website

One of the most beautiful vineyard sites in all of the Cotes de Blancs is today passionately tended by Pascal Agrapart. Pascal’s Champagnes are very Burgundian in approach and this is not surprising when you consider the clay and limestone soils as well as the family’s approach to making some of Champagne’s most focused and energetic wines in all of the region. Established by Pascal’s grandfather at the end of the 19th century the estate has some of the most coveted vineyards without exception. Pascal is a purist, plain and simple. His wines are mineral driven expressions of the terroir itself and one glass of any of his cuvees will confirm his position as a rising star in Champagne!

2008 L'Avizoise Blanc de Blanc

$140.00
Sold out

"Tension, energy and cut are the signatures of Agrapart's 2008 L'Avizoise. Expressive floral notes appear over time, giving the 2008 an attractive upper register of pure nuance. Here it is the wine's overall polish that impresses most. Like all of the 2008s, the Avizoise is surprisingly open and expressive for a young Agrapart Champagne. The Avizoise emerges from 50 year-old vines in Les Robarts and La Voie d’Epernay. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged March 2013."

2008 Mineral Blanc de Blanc

$120.00

Sold out

"The 2008 Blanc de Blancs is a perfect example of how open and expressive Pascal Agrapart's 2008s are today. Creamy, ample and highly expressive, the 2008 is all about texture. Lightly honeyed notes, white flowers, almonds, and lemon peel are given an extra kick of energy on the finish, where the wine's underlying minerality and salinity add considerable raciness. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged March 2013."

2008 Venus Blanc de Blanc

$220.00

Sold out

"The 2008 Blanc de Blancs Vénus, the most vibrant and nuanced of the 2008s at Agrapart, is endowed with a real sense of vertical cut. White flowers, chamomile, almonds and white orchard fruit open up in the glass, but only with reluctance, as the wine remains tense and tightly wound. The perfumed, highly expressive finish is incredibly tempting, but readers who can wait another year or two will find the extra time in bottle rewarding. The Vénus is made from a single parcel in the La Fosse lieu-dit that is worked entirely manually and plowed by horse. Disgorged March 2013, non-dosé."

Agrapart Complantee Grand Cru NV

$99.00

Currently out of stock

"Agrapart's NV Complantée emerges from a tiny parcel in Avize planted with six different varieties. Hints of chalk, almonds, dried flowers and herbs are all laced together in the glass. The intensely perfumed finish gives the Complantée considerable near-term appeal, yet there is more than enough underlying brilliance and overall minerality to ensure at least several years of fine drinking. The current release is a blend of equal parts 2011 and 2010 vintages, bottled with 5 grams of sugar per liter. Disgorged May 2013."

Agrapart Terroir Extra Brut - 1.5 Liter

$185.00

"The NV Terroirs is creamy, rich and expressive, with lovely Chardonnay depth and expression. Exotic floral and honeyed notes give the Terroirs soft contours and lovely overall balance. In this release, the Terroirs is a blend of equal parts 2010 and 2009, a combination that works quite nicely. This is a hugely appealing wine for readers who want to explore the Agrapart style without splurging on one of the higher-end bottlings. Disgorged May 2013. Dosage is 5 grams per liter."
